So we are planning an awesome Photoshop workshop for you this Friday at 2:15 in the cintiq lab F250 in the HFAC. Our amazing teacher will be Jenna Hamzawi (not sure I spelled that right). She is going to introduce us to the program and take us through how she uses phototshop! But here, I'll let her work speak for her:
Great right!?! Anyway she has a brand new piece of art she is going to take us through. Be there guys!!!
By the way there is a workshop in the same lab before us at 1. The sketchbook club is having the amazing Jake Parker come and tell us how to get creative with our sketchbooks. You should come to that as well!...but seriously you really should.
By the way...pretty cool to see all this artwork up here right? Some of it can be yours! Share with us, we would love to show your stuff off!! We also want blog links send me yours and I will post it!

Hey Guys!
So I have yet to get the details of the photoshop workshop ironed out, SORRY! We are thinking (tentatively) this friday at one-ish....but don't hold us to it!
I wanted to let you know of some cool things that are going on in the world of the animation program! The premier of Butchered Meats the latest animated short from the department is tomorrow @ 2:00 in the Library Auditorium 1080 on the first floor.
Also sometime this week (maybe wednesday) there is going to be the pitching of ideas for the new short for next year. If you aren't aware the juniors are allowed to submit story ideas and then vote on them do decide the short for the coming years senior project. No one is sure of the exact time but I will let you know when I find out!
The last thing you should know about is the workshop the Sketchbook club is hosting. This friday at 1 Jake Parker is going to be doing a workshop in on of the computer labs on the second floor (not sure which one yet). He is a member of the illustration faculty so it is a really big deal that he is even holding a workshop so you should all go. Also if your are not on the mailing list for the Sketchbook club shoot Mel an e-mail at byusketchbook@gmail.com. It is an amazing group and you should all join!
Last but not least if you happen to meet any pre-animation majors who are not in the club but would like to get on the list have them email us their name and number to this email address (byuanimationkids@gmail.com). We want more members please!

Hey Guys!
This is the first official post of the animation club! I know that you are as excited as I am about getting together and having a great time with each other. We are going to try and get together at least once a week and have a workshop for something that we could all use some work on (ie: gesture drawing, photoshop, maya. all possible topics). I think this week is going to be a photoshop workshop in the Cintiq lab. However we are not sure about the details, but will be getting back to you soon! All so the first meeting this week is when we are going to be introducing our presidency! Come and get to know us!
...by the way not all the officer spots are taken so if you come the first meeting and we like you....
I should also mention that we are planning on working very closely with our sister organization the Sketchbook Club. They are an invaluable resource which will really help you to strengthen your drawing for the portfolio. This amazing club provides tons of really great opportunity to work on your drawing from life. We are hoping that the Animation Club will be a workshop based club with tons of great workshops from kids already in the program. I would highly suggest you sign up for both! We will be letting you know when stuff is going on with SC if you aren't already signed up for their e-mails (which you all should).
I know that everyone is busy but there is going to be a ton of cool stuff going on so stay tuned!
